Air Foil Fume Hoods

Air foil fume hoods are distinguished by their aerodynamic entrance shape, which reduces turbulence and increases safety.

Flat Front Fume Hoods

Flat front fume hoods are distinguished by their three-sided enclosure, and have a horizontal, vertical, or combination sash located on the front of the hood.

Walk-In Fume Hoods

Walk-in fume hoods are designed for applications that require the use of large equipment.

Percholoric Acid Fume Hoods

Perchloric acid fume hoods are made of materials that don’t react to perchloric acid, including stainless steel and rigid PVC. These fume hoods are watertight to enable correct wash down, and are designed to be explosion proof. Perchloric acid fume hoods can’t be used for other applications, and must have their own duct and blower system.

Radioisotope Fume Hoods

Radioisotope fume hoods are specially designed to protect the user from radioactive material. To ensure that all radioactive material is cleaned from the surface, radioisotope fume hoods feature a seamless stainless steel interior. In addition, they are built strong enough to hold the lead shielding that protects the operator from radioactive material during use.

Green Fume Hoods

While traditional fume hoods can use as much energy as a 2,500-square-foot-home, several different types of green fume hoods have been designed to reduce energy usage. Green fume hoods such as reduced-flow fume hoods vent up to 50% less air, while ductless fume hoods rely on their own systems of filters to treat laboratory air, instead of the laboratory’s exhaust system.

Variable Air Fume Hoods

Variable air fume hoods use an automatic feedback system to adjust airflow based on sash height, resulting in constant face velocity. In addition to resulting in lower energy use, variable air fume hoods increase user safety.

The main function of your commercial laboratory fume hood is to exhaust contaminants, and increase operator and environmental safety. The type of fume hood needed will vary according to the commercial laboratory’s application, the location of the fumehood, traffic patterns and airflow, and how the fume hood is ducted.
